Chris Burgess emerged the hero for Dun Laoghaire scoring four times in his side's 5-2 victory in the Division Two Colleges and Universities Football League Final. Burgess also claimed the man of the match award for his virtuoso performance on the day.
He had his team two up after only six minutes of play. There was an element of offside about the first in minute three, but little doubt about the award of the penalty he converted on six.

Drogheda to their credit fought back and levelled matters with two goals from Kevin Doyle on 29 and 40. The first a real beauty as he cut inside a defender on the left before curling to the far top corner from the edge of the box.
Drogheda faced a stiff breeze in the second half and fell behind to another Burgess strike on 48. Doyle had a great chance to level matters but Conor Banahan saved with his feet before Burgess put the game to bed on 72.
He skipped passed a couple of tackles before sliding the ball by the advancing Craig Lynch in the Drog's nets.
Anto McSarry entered the fray and put a gloss on the final scoreline when he poked home the fifth with two minutes remaining. Niall Dwyer lifted the cup after a very entertaining final.
