Overall competition favourites Korea just managed to edge out Ireland and take the honours in the group.

TIt was another disappointing result that saw the Irish go down yet again in a close game by a single goal margin and see them finish bottom of their group. James Costello had a great chance to put Ireland ahead before the break but he failed to connect with a fine right wing cross from John Mulroy.
The pacy Koreans always looked dangerous and, after a quick breakaway, a ball in from the left allowed Lee Jae Min the chance to beat Ryan Coulter with an emphatic header. In typical fashion Ireland battled back and had a number of chances to equalise, the best of these falling to Mark Surgenor. His volley from three yards was saved by the Korean keeper in the last seconds of the game.
