IT CARLOW 2   COLAISTE IDE 1

Despite being on the back foot for most of the early period, Carlow opened the scoring through a wonderful half-volley from  Dee on 18 minutes.
Elmes, named man of the match at the finish, then doubled the lead 10 minutes later with a brilliant solo effort, going past two Ide defenders in the box before rifling a shot past Conor Hurley.
With Bobby Tier controlling midfield, Carlow remained on top in the second half as Coláiste Íde hardly  troubled Michael Schlingermann in goal.
Near the finish the Finglas college were given some hope when a Shane Keely free kick was deflected to the net. Unfortunately for them though, they could not find the equaliser despite injury-time pressure as Carlow’s defence held firm.
