EUSA Futsal IT Carlow 6-2 University of Saint Gallen - Switzerland

IT Carlow secured their first win of the European Universities Futsal Championship in Zagreb toady with a fine 6-2 win over University of Saint Gallen - Switzerland.


IT Carlow started brighter and were 3-0 up within four minutes with excellent goals from Ben Ryan, Craig Wall and Darren Kavanagh. Carlow dominated throughout and should have had more but for fine goalkeeping by Adam Rivollet. Saint Gallen pulled a goal back from Kevin Fankhauser but Carlow finished the half 4-1 up with an excellent Robert Farrell strike. Saint Gallen got a second goal from a long range effort from Captain Luca Kuttel however Carlow scored twice more in the game through Alan Last and a second from Ben Ryan.
IT Carlow Head Coach Paul O'Reilly said after the game "I'm absolutely delighted with our first win in the tournament, its shows good progression from the players, they are improving with each game. Our inexperience playing futsal has told in the first four games, but hopefully we can follow this up with another win tomorrow."
