As part of the Colleges Football Association of Ireland's 40th Anniversary celebrations, this year's CFAI Umbro Cup Final will take place at Tallaght Stadium on Wednesday March 6th.
The CFAI Finals will be held over two days beginning at 3pm on Tuesday 5th March with the two Umbro Cup Semi Finals, one of which will be played at the ITT Dublin Campus and with Ned Kelly Park, Kilnamanagh hosting the other.
That evening will see the first silverware of the event being decided with the CFAI Umbro Plate Final taking place at Peamount United, kick-off 7pm.
On Wednesday 6th March there will be three finals, beginning with the final of the CFAI Umbro B team Cup being played at the ITT Dublin Campus, kick-off 12.00 noon. This will be followed by the final of the Bob Eustace Cup, named after a former President of the CFAI, which will be played at Ned Kelly Park, Kilnamanagh, kick off 12.30pm.
The highlight of the CFAI finals, the CFAI Umbro Cup, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 6th at Tallaght Stadium, kick-off 3pm.
This year ITT Dublin are celebrating their 20th Anniversary and they have worked with local football clubs and organisations to host the prestigious CFAI Umbro Finals. It is the second time the finals have been held at Tallaght. The finals previously took place at the Dublin venue in 1997 under its previous guise as Tallaght RTC.
The collaboration between ITT Dublin and the CFAI follows on from last year's successful Guinness World Record breaking penalty shootout attempt, at Tallaght Stadium. The attempt, supported by local schools and businesses in the Tallaght area, saw the CFAI celebrate its 40th anniversary by scoring 1401 continuous penalties, almost doubling the previous record of 748 held by America's MLS.
