Mens WUG Squad beat Northern Ireland Amateurs

UCC striker Josh O'Shea with two first half goals followed by a third from defender Dylan Mernagh after the break gave the Ireland squad bound for the World University Games in Kazan, Russia next month an impressive win over the Northern Ireland Amateurs at Inver Park Larne.


Manager Danny Crowley was pleased to record the first success in his programme of warm up games in the build up to the Kazan tournament after an earlier 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland Under 19s and a 2-1 defeat to St Patricks Athletic.
While Northern Ireland who travel to Venice next week to compete in the UEFA Regions Cup Finals have suffered a second set back to own their preparations with this defeat following on from their recent 2-0 loss against the Republic of Ireland Amateurs in Dublin.
