Holders UCD out of CUFL as Jordanstown and Belfast Metro Advance to Quarter Finals

10 November 2010

Holders and three times CUFL winners UCD are out of this years competition after a last minute equaliser from Trinity College's Ciaran Lawlor at College Park today.

Trinity went ahead after 20 mins from Graham Conway, but UCD took control of the game thereafter and goals from Mark Langtry (32) and Shane Massey (44) looked to have kept them in contention going into next weeks final group game aginst the team they beat in last years final DIT. However a number of one on ones failed to find the net and Lawlors goal knocked the holders out.

Elsewhere University of Ulster Jordanstown, who were beaten in last years semi final by UCD, won their fourth straight game in Premier North beating Magee College with goals from David Bell and a Stephen Doyle penalty cancelled out Adam Clarkes goal for Magee.

Queens University Belfast drew 2-2 away to Coleraine with goals from David Magee and Tony Tumelty. The draw means Belfast Metropolitan College cannot now be caught on nine points and thus qualify for their first ever CUFL Quarter Final.
