CFAI travelled to Scotland and took on their Universities in an international challenge.
The Irish Colleges travelled to Scotland to take on the Scottish Universities in an international Challenge yesterday evening. The match was played in a competitive spirit on a crisp evening in the Scottish capital.
The first half saw three good chances for the Irish with one for the Scots. After just five minutes, Dunleavy beat keeper with header which was cleared off the line. The move of the half came on 20 minutes involving 4 Irish players and ending with a Forsyth shot just over the bar. Two minutes later, Schlingermann pulled off a great save, deflecting the ball around the post for a corner following a fierce drive from Kerr. Dunleavy was again just off target from a well struck shot on 39 min.
The second period proved equally competitive, with chances at both ends. Overall, the CFAI held the initiative but the game ended as it started at 0-0.
