16 February 2013

This week will see the new structure of the WSCAI League taking shape with Premier and First Division Quarter Finals across the country.

New Intervarsities winners UCC are first up with an intriguing home game against plate winners Athlone IT on Tuesday. Premier Division holders IT Sligo host emerging CIT and the tie of the round is UCD against UL on Wednesday with three senior Inter...nationals in ...action. The final tie of the Premier games is IT Tralee v NUIG. Tralee won last year's First Division and topped Premier South before Christmas, a fantastic achievement in a division that also contained UCC and UL.
The standout game in the First Division is NUI Maynooth v UUJ. UUJ are back in Womens Colleges Football for the first time in a number of years and have some International players in their ranks too, while Sara Lawlor, last season's WNL Player of the Year and current Senior International will be hoping to get the goals for Maynooth in their quest for the First Division title. Letterkenny IT will hope to make a semi final in their first year back also, they host UL 'B' while DIT make the journey to Cork to play CIT 'B'.
IT Blanchardstown have already reached the First Division semi final with an excellent 3-2 win over UCD this week.
