Tom King saved the day for the Colleges FAI with a second half equaliser to ensure that as holders they held on to the Perpetual Challenge Cup for yet another year in the annual meeting with the Irish Defence Forces af Home Farm FC.
Stephen Fisher had the Forces in front just before the break with a smartly taken effort after Colleges 'keeper Craig Sexton had made a hash of a clearance.
King might have put his side ahead earlier but he failed to find the target with a couple of clear cut chances. While Darren Forsyth and Danny McGuinness also went close.
But the Mervue United winger made amends on 71 minutes after the Forces 'keeper Shane Sherlock's attempted clearanced cannoned off defender Richie Barber and King was in quickly to head into an empty goal.
