In the first of the CUFL Quarter Finals a Jamie Stack goal was enough to send Colaiste Stiofain Naofa into the semi final for the second year running in a hard fought 1-0 win over ITT Dublin.
They will now face a semi final against IT Carlow 'B' or Letterkenny IT.
The remaining CUFL Quarter finals take place next week with some mouth-watering ties set for conclusion.
In the Premier Division holders UCD travel to face 2009 winners UL who finished second in Premier South. The holders are used to winning away at this stage but will be wary of the threat from goal machine Garbhan Coughlan.
Last season's finalists IT Carlow will fancy themselves at home to DIT, a side they have twice beaten comfortably at home in recent seasons. Dean Broaders has been scoring most of the goals for Carlow as they have put 28 past their opponents in just five games this season.
Dublin City University who finished second in Premier North face a Waterford IT side whom had been impressive until they face IT Carlow in their final league game. They will need to get off to a better start this time if they are to make the step that has so far eluded them from Quarter Finalists to Semi Finalists.
The most intriguing game of the round sees a reverse of last seasons quarter final where Maynooth University host Athlone IT. Athlone, whom have consistently made the semi finals for the last five seasons, won 2-1 last season in a excellent game. Maynooth welcome back Jamie McGrath who featured in all three of Paul Doolin's Irish Under 19 UEFA Qualifiers success last week in Waterford. This game should be a cracker.
In the first Division IT Carlow 'B' go in search of back to back titles as they host Letterkenny IT who are aiming to return to the Premier Division after last seasons relegation.
The impressive Dundalk IT with Conor McDonald on fire should be too strong for Limerick IT in Oriel Park, while NUI Galway have been quietly going about their business and the host a young Colaiste Ide side in what promises to be an open game.
In Division Two its hard to look past the repeat of last years final when IT Carlow 'C' beat Athlone IT 'B' 1-0. This time the venue is reversed but the outcome is expected to be the same. Maynooth University 'B' will have their hands full trying to stop Inchicore College's Izzy Akinade in a game that should deliver plenty of goals. Cork College of Commerce are on the road again this week as they travel to face the impressive IT Blanchardstown 'B' while DCU 'B' travel to Nenagh to face the so far impressive LIT Tipperary.
Divison Three has three play-off games for the right to join the five qualified teams in the quarter-finals. One game goes ahead in the Quarter Final as IT Carlow 'D' host NUI Maynooth 'C'.
