UCC Academicals, the Cork universitiesí second entry in the competition, secured their place in the Crowley Cup Final with a dramatic 4-3 penalty shoot out victory over the fancied University of Limerick at the DCU Sports Complex.

The sides were tied at 1-1 after extra time and the Academicals 'keeper Diarmuid Long kept his side in the hunt with a brilliant save from Darragh O'Ceallaigh in the penalty shoot out.
But when UL's Sean Ryan crashed his spot kick off the crossbar Cork full back Killian Murphy stepped up to coolly beat UL 'keeper Sean O'Gorman and send a delighted Academicals into the decider.
Limerick looked on track to go through when O'Ceallaigh converted a penalty with 15 minutes remaining after Kevin Murphy had been hauled down by Daithi Curtin.
But Jordan Philpott , a former Blackburn Rovers trainee, levelled with a stunning free kick five minutes later to send the game into extra time.
Queens University Belfast will face the UCC Academicals in the final after they got the better of hosts DCU 3-1 in the other semi final.
Patrick Stuart gave the Belfast side an 1-0 interval lead when he scored direct from a corner on 27 minutes.
DCU had plenty of the play in the early part of the second half but then paid the price for sloppy defending when Jason McDermott grabbed a second Queens goal after a mix up in the home defence.
A Kevin Hughes cross cum shot that Queens 'keeper Sam Jones misjudged pulled a goal back for DCU on 79 minutes but shortly after defender Eoghan Maguire sealed the win and a place in the final with a third Queens goal.
A goal in each half from Marcos Byrne gave UCD a hard fought 201 win over Maynooth University in the Crowley Plate semi final. Mark Dunne pulled a goal back but the Belfield side held on.
UCC also reached the Plate decider with a facile 6-0 trouncing of University of Ulster Coleraine.
