Amy Murphy was the star with a four goal haul to power DIT to success over Athlone IT in the Women's League Plate Final at UL.

The talented forward had DIT in front after three minutes with a clinical finish to beat Athlone 'keeper Cliodhna Dunne after she ran on to Dervla Higgin's through ball.

Murphy doubled the lead midway in to half when she burst past the Athlone back line and applied a similar finish.

However Aisling Cosgrave had Athlone back on level terms by the break with two well taken goals.

A Sarah Jane Hecker penalty on 70 minutes put DIT in front once again in what had been a fairly even second half and Murphy then celebrated with two further goals in the closing minutes to round off her memorable day.
